2 East Bay women seen stealing dozens of pairs of jeans, formula arrested in Vacaville

Two East Bay women suspected of stealing $ 13,200 worth of jeans, drugs and other property as part of an organized retail theft ring were arrested last week in Vacaville.

Coreneshia Brooks, 25, of Antioch and Jazell Young, 25, of Richmond reportedly hit a True Religion outlet store in Vacavile Premium Outlets on Nut Tree Road shortly before 3 p.m. on July 12, police said in an article on social networks.

Staff reported to police that two women seized stacks of jeans – brands True Religion and Levi’s – and walked away with 80 pairs worth over $ 8,700.

Police began searching for the suspects, who were seen driving off in a white Ford Focus.

Officers scanned traffic cameras and found the car, but were surprised to see the vehicle return to the same retail area.

Shortly after, employees at the Target store on Harbison Drive called police to report that two women had just stolen formula and were driving away in a white four-door car. The suspects’ descriptions matched the women linked to the True Religion theft, police said.

When officers caught up with the Ford as it was starting to exit the parking lot near Target, they told the driver, Brooks, to stop and she complied.

The suspects were taken into custody and a search of the car revealed piles of jeans, as well as

stole Target items worth more than $ 4,500, which included infant formula, children’s clothing and several over-the-counter drugs, police said.

Investigators say Brooks is believed to have committed numerous previous thefts from Target stores in at least 30 different cities in 11 counties, with an estimated loss of more than $ 74,000.

Brooks and Young were held in Solano County Jail on suspicion of crimes related to shoplifting, possession of stolen goods and organized retail theft.

Brooks also found an outstanding arrest warrant for his arrest in San Joaquin County regarding organized retail theft and grand theft.
