At Newcastle we can proudly say that we have the National Center for Children’s Stories right on our doorstep.

A place full of things to do, the center celebrates some of the most cherished stories ever written.

Dedicated to children’s stories, the center is an ideal place to visit this World Book Day.

There is a specialized children’s bookstore located in the center which offers books for toddlers through to young adults.

Access to the center is free and open seven days a week except during school periods when it closes every Wednesday.

Hours of operation are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.

This second-hand bookshop on Westgate Road has an extensive collection of books for all ages and interests.

Proceeds from the shop, which is run by Amnesty International UK, are intended to support the organisation’s work to protect people wherever justice, freedom, truth and dignity are violated.

The shop has been serving Newcastle for over a decade and stocks high quality books priced between £1.50 and £6.

Genres available at the store include used books, both fiction and non-fiction, children’s books, poetry and travel books.

The shop is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday.
