Book clubs are a great way to establish a sense of community with other readers. They give you the chance to chat with other people who love to read, debate characters or story plots, or anxiously anticipate the next title of your favorite series. They are also a wonderful way to encourage you to make or maintain the habit of reading, or to look at the same book from a different perspective. If you’re looking for a new book club, of course the Grande Prairie Public Library has you covered!
Afternoon Book Club
This book club meets monthly and reads novels that span a variety of genres. Books are selected with an emphasis on titles that are also available in DAISY format for those who cannot use conventional print books. The next Afternoon Book Club reads Bring Me Back by BA Paris. They will meet in the Willie Janssen Discovery Room on July 19 at 4 p.m.
Erica’s Book Club
Join Erica of 2dayFM fame for this monthly book club. Upcoming books include The Midnight Library by Matt Haig and The Vanishing Half by Britt Bennet in July, and The Last Thing He Told Me by Laura Dave in August. Erica’s next book club meets in the Willie Janssen Discovery Room on July 14 at 7:00 p.m.
Avid Readers Book Club

Upcoming books include Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern during the summer months, How to Pronounce Knife by Souvankham Thammavogsa in September and Cloud Cuckoo Land by Anthony Doerr in October.
