An inevitable side event of every international tournament is which team has the best kit – and this summer’s European Championships are certainly no different.

While the subject is inherently divisive and open to individual interpretation, we have tried to get to the bottom of it by finding something quantifiable.

The list below is based on the largest number of sales of shirts on Kitbag sports retail site.

Sports retailer Musette offer their customers the opportunity to save 40% on all EURO 2020 purchases.

Discounts are available on products such as the England Home Kit, as well as other popular items. Shirts from Italy, France, Germany, Portugal and the Netherlands were among the first bestsellers.

1. England

England Home Stadium Shirt 2020-22

It’s no surprise, of course, to see the England shirt at the top of the list – and with over 60% of EURO shirt sales on Kitbag, that’s by far too.

The classic, sleek Three Lions kit has received a lot of praise, but sales will inevitably come from loyalty to the team as much as design.

The supply for the England shirt is said to be running out – and demand is only expected to increase the longer Gareth Southgate’s side remain in the tournament.

2. Italy

Italy Home Shirt 2019-21

Elsewhere, Italy – which impressed many with its early performances in the competition – comes in second. Their shirts represent a 7% share.

3. France

France Stadium Home Shirt 2020-21

France, favorite of bookmakers, comes in 3rd position with 5.99% market share. Whoever beats Didier Deschamps’ team will surely imagine themselves against all that the tournament has to offer.

4. Germany

Germany Home Shirt 2019-21

Germany hardly ever have a bad kit – and this effort is certainly no different. They have a 5.29% market share but could face an uphill battle to stay in the competition after losing to France on Matchday 1.

5. Portugal

Portugal Home Stadium Shirt 2020-21

Portugal won EURO 2016 despite winning only one of their matches in 90 minutes. Their home shirts are simplistic in design, although this is their shirt outside they wore in their most talked about opener against Hungary. Portugal’s shirt sales account for a share of 4.61%.

6. The Netherlands

Netherlands Home Stadium Shirt 2020-21

It doesn’t look like an international tournament without a sea of orange after the Netherlands. Manager Frank De Boer will see that the tournament has a way to reestablish their position in the game – and while there may be question marks over their credentials as serious contenders, you can never blame the jersey that ‘they wear. Their sales represent a share of 2.93%.

7. Belgium

Belgium Home Shirt 2019-21

Belgium’s influence in the Premier League over the past decade is clear – and with a striker like Romelu Lukaku and a midfielder like Kevin De Bruyne, Roberto Martinez’s side are certainly capable of beating anyone. who that day.

Despite their distribution in much of the English league, the “brushstroke” design of their jersey, made by Adidas, represents a rather modest share of 1.49%.

8. Denmark

Denmark Home Shirt – 2020-22

It may be surprising to see Denmark ranking in this list above, for example Spain. But this effort from Hummel – the only jersey they’ve designed for EURO 2020 – is undeniably enjoyable. They represent a share of 1.46%.

9. Croatia

Croatia Home Match Shirt 2020-21

The nation watched England take on Croatia on Matchday 1, starting their campaign successfully with a Raheem Sterling goal to zero. , to wear their all black. The 1.11% share of sales they currently hold may well increase once it makes its first release.

10. Spain

Spain Home Shirt 2019-21

Seeing Spain’s ranking on this list is somewhat indicative of its current position among the traditional favorites in the competition.

Once back-to-back European Championship winners – with a World Cup stuck in their midst – Spain increasingly looks like a team in transition. As we have seen time and time again in football, anything can happen in tournament football.

Jersey sales in Spain represent 1.07% of all EURO 2020 sales.

Locals Surf School hosts the 3rd annual Foam Top Frenzy

Anyone lucky enough to witness Shannon Riley and Dave Humphries walking the Rockaway Beach promenade last weekend could spot them several feet away, with a dragon above their heads. Luckily the dragon was just an inflatable and they were heading to another group of surfers looking to ride abstract boards for charity and community building.

The 3rd Annual Foam Top Frenzy hosted by Locals Surf School just off Beach 69th Street meant a lot to those who remember the last time they attended the event many years ago. Surfers who took part in the frenzy were only allowed to ride real, working boards. It only meant foam trays, alternative boards, and craft boards.

Participants competed for the chance to win three awards and titles for best alt. Craft, Best Wave and Best Wipeout. The event was also sponsored by HyperFlex Wetsuits and JUNE SHINE CO. Proceeds from donations suggested to participate were to benefit Surfrider, a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting and enjoying the world’s ocean, waves and beaches through activism.

The event lasted from approximately 10 a.m. to almost 2 p.m. with the announcement of the winners of each award category. Lois Klossner took home the award for best wave, J Scott Klossner with best wipeout and the duo of Riley and Humphries took home best alt. Arts and crafts. Paul J Schmidt with Paul Surf won 1st place with his foam board, posing with the first local foam board. In addition to the larger rewards, Locals Surf School was also able to distribute sponsored material to other surfers who participated. One lucky surfer even brought home a large portable futon.

Zero waste shirts made from dormant stock can reduce the fashion industry’s environmental footprint https://innerbookshop.com/zero-waste-shirts-made-from-dormant-stock-can-reduce-the-fashion-industrys-environmental-footprint/ https://innerbookshop.com/zero-waste-shirts-made-from-dormant-stock-can-reduce-the-fashion-industrys-environmental-footprint/#respond Thu, 17 Jun 2021 04:54:37 +0000 https://innerbookshop.com/zero-waste-shirts-made-from-dormant-stock-can-reduce-the-fashion-industrys-environmental-footprint/

It was after seeing thousands of meters of fabric go up in smoke in South Africa that Valentine Robin decided to create Akho. The brand seeks to create timeless clothing made with natural materials – exclusively from dormant stocks – with no impact on the planet, and by drastically reducing waste that contributes to making fashion one of the most polluting industries in the world. .

The fashion industry must find ways to reinvent itself in order to reduce its environmental footprint. This has been done in recent months via second-hand resale devices, the use of fibers with little or no pollution, but also via recycling. It is in a way this last path that Valentine Robin decided to follow when creating Akho. The concept of the brand is based on the notion of circularity: to give a second life to the meters of fabric relegated to the reserves, even burned, because of defects, unsold, surplus production or cancellations of orders.

“Last year, I co-organized a world tour to meet committed entrepreneurs who are fighting for more responsible consumption in very different sectors and ecosystems. … In South Africa, I had the opportunity to visit a textile factory. The day before my visit, the workshop had seen a large order from France canceled and therefore ended up with hundreds and hundreds of freshly made fabric rolls on their hands. Due to lack of space and money, they were burning all this material in the back of their premises, causing an impressive black smoke, ”Valentine Robin told ETX Studio.

It was then that the young entrepreneur decided to found a brand with strong social and environmental commitments. “Seeing the disappointment of employees at the orderly destruction of work weeks was a real trigger. I wanted to get involved and invest in a circular and virtuous system that would put expertise, humanity and respect for the environment at the heart of its concerns “, continues the founder of Akho.

No new material

The Akho brand – which means “no new material” in Zulu, a nod to the country where the idea for the concept was born – and its shirts already seem to have attracted a large number of fans looking for a more responsible wardrobe. The Ulule campaign, which is about to end, is on track to reach 400% of its initial target, demonstrating real public interest in a more circular approach to fashion.

To limit its impact on the environment and reduce waste, Akho has chosen to use dormant stocks from major European houses or fabric production workshops, favoring noble, natural and chemical-free materials, such as linen and cotton. The manufacturing takes place in a family workshop located in the Porto region of Portugal.

No waste, upstream or downstream

Akho’s concept is based on zero waste, without creating any raw material. But the brand has chosen to go even further by offering its products in limited and numbered series, produced on demand, to once again avoid overproduction. It is an idea in total harmony with the initial approach, which is based on limiting waste. But it is also about offering clothes that last over time, from which it will be difficult to separate, unlike “disposable fashion” which precisely leads to this overproduction.

“It is very important for me to offer true companions for life, clothes that we love and keep, that we pass on and that we look at, years later, with my head full of memories. And to achieve this emotional feeling, it is important that the consumer feels that “THEIR” piece is unique, rare and precious. This is why I decided to produce only a small series of high quality timeless pieces, each [individually] numbered, to support this feeling of exclusivity and uniqueness, ”emphasizes Valentine Robin.

The first selection of shirts on offer, available for pre-order now, includes the “Phambi” linen shirt in royal blue, with 161 pieces available, the “Emva” shirt in heavy cotton, available in three colors – still in limited series – and the “Manje” shirt in light cotton, available in five colors. Note that for each model, labels and buttons are also recycled.

For the moment, the shirts are available for pre-order at a reduced price via the Ulule campaign. The models mentioned above will then be priced at € 109 each (around $ 130).

If football comes home this summer, the English stars may well be wearing T-shirts from an Isle of Wight company.

Teemill, a subsidiary of the island brand Rapanui, now counts the English skipper Harry Kane among its clients.

The Freshwater and East Cowes company also has stars such as fitness sensation Joe Wicks and YouTube’s Yoga with Adriene wearing their products.

The Teemill online platform is now used internationally by more than 100,000 brands, including BBC Earth, WWF, Google, Sea Shepherd and Cancer Research UK.

Such has been their success in the competitive industry, they are looking to hire an additional 50 Islanders to join their workforce in Freshwater and East Cowes.

The company is known for its unique circular products that come back to be remade when worn out, using only natural materials and renewable energies and making them affordable with smart software, robotics and digital marketing.

Today, the island-born management team is led by Tobias Penner, of Ventnor, who said: “We have continued to grow and the original vision of the company remains unchanged: to build a digital business that makes something positive about sustainability here on the island. of Wight, our home.

“Continuing to invest on the island is what we want to do. This recent round of jobs is linked to our growth as more and more Teemill users are used internationally.”

Teemill recently won the Queens Award for Enterprise and Innovation for its real-time manufacturing systems.

The investment in jobs follows a recent expansion of the Albany Building in East Cowes, where 50 jobs were created in design, product development, warehousing, manufacturing and software engineering.

Teemill is able to ship one recycled / recyclable organic cotton t-shirt per second and uses renewable energy to power its island facilities and internet infrastructure.

It employs around 130 Islanders, many of whom have joined as graduate interns or through modern apprenticeship.

More than half of the management team was trained on the job by Teemill.

The company was first featured by County Press in 2008, interviewing teenage founders Rob and Mart Drake-Knight.

Mart said, “The business has matured as the team has grown with it.

“The success is due to them and the encouragement of many members of this community who have helped Teemill go this far.

“The latest investment in jobs is a testament to our shared belief that the Internet can enable the creation of businesses with sustainable growth here on the island.

“Teemill will continue to invest in the community. We are looking to build a new, larger, permanent home here so that the sustainable technology built on the island remains a hallmark of our island economy for years to come.

McTominay asked about Man Utd’s team number change with iconic shirts available https://innerbookshop.com/mctominay-asked-about-man-utds-team-number-change-with-iconic-shirts-available/ https://innerbookshop.com/mctominay-asked-about-man-utds-team-number-change-with-iconic-shirts-available/#respond Mon, 14 Jun 2021 08:41:20 +0000 https://innerbookshop.com/mctominay-asked-about-man-utds-team-number-change-with-iconic-shirts-available/

The Scotland international has been wearing the number 39 since leaving the academy and entering the senior setup at Old Trafford

Scott McTominay has worn the No.39 shirt at Manchester United since entering senior squad at Old Trafford, and the Scotland international has no plans to change despite some iconic numbers up for grabs.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who is another product of the Red Devils famous academy system, burst onto the scene when Jose Mourinho took his big break.

He now has up to 133 competitive appearances and has become a key part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans, with his game taken to new heights in 2020-21, but there are no plans for him to drop. the list of team numbers from the high 30s.

What was said?

Asked during a Q&A on United’s official site On whether a change of jersey number could be considered, McTominay said: “Number 39 is obviously special, when you first get your number.

“No one ever said to change my number – there hasn’t been a single conversation about changing my number. Not three years, two years or a year ago.

“Nothing has ever been said about it. I totally agree with that. I never even asked myself and I never thought or mentioned in a conversation to change my number. I am perfectly fine, so 39. I see 39 everywhere now, I can’t seem to get it out of my head! “

Who wore the 39 before McTominay?

The Scotland international would take a familiar path if he traded the number 39 for another jersey.

Before McTominay took that post at United squad, fellow academy graduate Marcus Rashford had made a stunning breakthrough filling the same shirt.

The England forward is now No.10 for the Red Devils, with only the 2015-16 campaign devoted to 39 donning.

What numbers are available at United?

Roy Keane Manchester United

The Red Devils currently have all 1-11 places occupied in their squad.

Juan Mata is yet to sign a new contract, however, and could move out of the No.8 spot this summer, while serious questions have also been asked about No.4 Phil Jones and his future.

Elsewhere 12, 14, 15 and 20 are all up for grabs, but 16 may be the best fit for a player of McTominay’s ilk.

He would follow in illustrious footsteps if that jersey were taken, with a few iconic midfielders previously taking that number.

Seven-time Premier League title winner Roy Keane has spent 12 memorable years as United’s No.16.

That jersey was then passed on to Michael Carrick, who filled it out for 12 more as he won five top-tier titles and a Champions League crown.

Euros: Soccer balls ‘come home’ as shirt collector Matthew adorns his home in England https://innerbookshop.com/euros-soccer-balls-come-home-as-shirt-collector-matthew-adorns-his-home-in-england/ https://innerbookshop.com/euros-soccer-balls-come-home-as-shirt-collector-matthew-adorns-his-home-in-england/#respond Sun, 13 Jun 2021 10:39:54 +0000 https://innerbookshop.com/euros-soccer-balls-come-home-as-shirt-collector-matthew-adorns-his-home-in-england/

A dedicated football fan covered his home in English jerseys ahead of the Euro team’s first match.

The three lions face the Croatian team at 2 p.m. today at Wembley Stadium, and in anticipation, New Marske’s Matthew Wills has adorned his windows with a vintage kit.

He hopes this original show will lift people’s spirits throughout the competition and make them smile after a difficult year.

“They will all stay until England is out of the competition,” he explained. “I have about fifteen more, so I’m going to trade and change them constantly.”

The 47-year-old, who lives with his dog, knew he wanted to decorate his home after it received a warm welcome at the last World Cup.

He said: “It’s nice for the village and it definitely gets people talking and creates a feeling of excitement.

“Lots of people stopped me to chat, and there are always people outside taking pictures.”

Matthew has been collecting shirts for about 25 years and says his favorite is an English goalkeeper yellow jersey because “it’s something a little different”.

“I also collect English cricket and rugby shirts over the years – I’m not a club team.”

Although Matthew certainly supports England through his domestic project, he doesn’t have too much confidence in himself.

“I don’t expect England to do too well. We always expect too much of them, and they tend to buckle under pressure at major competitions.

“Personally, I think Portugal will win the trophy.”

Barcelona transfer news: Memphis Depay shirts are already available for purchase in the club shop https://innerbookshop.com/barcelona-transfer-news-memphis-depay-shirts-are-already-available-for-purchase-in-the-club-shop/ https://innerbookshop.com/barcelona-transfer-news-memphis-depay-shirts-are-already-available-for-purchase-in-the-club-shop/#respond Sat, 12 Jun 2021 15:03:13 +0000 https://innerbookshop.com/barcelona-transfer-news-memphis-depay-shirts-are-already-available-for-purchase-in-the-club-shop/

Barcelona have been very active in the summer transfer market.

The Catalan giants have already confirmed the purchases of Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia, both in free transfers from Manchester City.

They also finalized the signing of Emerson Royal, paying Real Betis £ 8.1million for his services.

Barca will be eager to make more high profile signings as they look to win La Liga and Champions League again.

One player they have been strongly linked with is Memphis Depay.

The Dutchman is a free agent this summer and can be signed for nothing.

Memphis is one of the most wanted players in the world, with Marca reporting that Juventus, Inter and Paris Saint-Germain are also interested.

But it looks like Barcelona have won the race to sign the 27-year-old.

This is because the official Barcelona website sells Memphis Depay shirts.

Yes really. The jerseys were spotted in their club’s online store on Saturday afternoon. Spanish Sport Point of Sale confirmed that they were indeed selling the shirts, which are priced at € 160.

It’s probably a mistake, but it’s funny that Barca have already started selling the shirts of a player who hasn’t even signed for them yet.

Memphis declined to be shot on speculation with Barcelona earlier this week.

“I know there is speculation, there always is. The world of football works like this and I’m used to living with this kind of situation already. But I’m not going to say anything more about my future “, he said, by Mundo Deportivo.

“The transfer market is very long and there is still time to go. Now my job is to prepare well for the Euro without more. The rest of the topics don’t worry or distract me. I am focusing only on the match against Ukraine. I don’t want to talk about it, I just want to have a good tournament.

It looks like Barcelona will announce their fourth summer signing in Memphis very soon.

Design company celebrates pride season with Proud Ducks t-shirts https://innerbookshop.com/design-company-celebrates-pride-season-with-proud-ducks-t-shirts/ https://innerbookshop.com/design-company-celebrates-pride-season-with-proud-ducks-t-shirts/#respond Fri, 11 Jun 2021 09:00:00 +0000 https://innerbookshop.com/design-company-celebrates-pride-season-with-proud-ducks-t-shirts/

Talented local artist Connie Wolgast revisited several t-shirt design ideas while at home during the pandemic.

Wolgast, who previously worked as a baker, made a design for the Proud Duck t-shirts, which celebrates Pride Month.

Her initial inspiration was taken from a very upright duck she saw in 2011 in Grants Pass, Ore.

“It made me smile and I wanted to pass that feeling on to others,” Wolgast said of his design. “Every time I think about that moment, I smile. This Odd Duck has become my mascot, and sharing that smile has become my goal.

Its Proud Duck design features a circular pattern of ducks in all the colors of the rainbow flag, representing lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer pride and LGBTQ social movements.

The original 1978 flag design has been altered over the years, most recently with the addition of black, brown, light blue, pink and white stripes to represent marginalized people.

Arlene Clark, a friend and neighbor, says Wolgast is creative, imaginative, and easy to work with. Another of his creations was a drawing for the Anna Maria Island Historical Society, featuring the former prison of Anna Maria.

“Her duck design is whimsical and so cute,” Clark said.

Wolgast begins the creation process by drawing her designs by hand, then uploading them to a computer, where she can color and edit them.

“There may be messages in the drawings and there may not be. The designs are created with humor and the intention is to make you smile and be happy. I look forward to your smiles and may the odds be with you, ”she said.

During Pride Month, many large companies dress their logos with rainbows. Sometimes small businesses and independent designers who promote pride get overlooked.

The point is, community small business owners and independent creators have helped build the pride movement. Today, these independents can be identified by rainbow stickers on their storefronts and an outspoken presence in online marketplaces, Wolgast said in a press release announcing its Proud Duck design.

“Proud Ducks” t-shirts are available on the Odd Duck Designs store at Etsy.com.

Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Gay (LGBTQ) Pride Month is celebrated each June to honor the 1969 Stonewall Uprising in Manhattan, according to the Library of Congresss.

“I think it’s good. It gives people a reason to celebrate and be proud of who they are,” Wolgast said of Pride Month.
