Fun facts and trivia every royal fan should know

The royal family remains an inexhaustible source of fascination for fans of pop culture the world over. Royal weddings, in particular, always manage to generate a lot of interest and curiosity. Prince William and Kate Middleton had a high profile wedding and millions watched Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials. However, a member of the royal family got married in relative secrecy in July 2020: Princess Beatrice. She is the daughter of Prince Edward, the youngest child of Queen Elizabeth, and Sarah Ferguso. And for royal fans, Princess Beatrice’s marriage to longtime sweetheart Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi has been one of the royal family’s hottest topics in recent years.

Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi and Princess Beatrice tied the knot on July 17, 2020, in an ultra-small ceremony at the Royal Chapel of All Saints’ Day, Royal Lodge, Windsor. The royal wedding, which had not been announced in advance, had been postponed until May 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When planning their wedding, the two lovebirds took every precaution. However, they always allowed for special details that made their day special.

In the end, very few photos and details were revealed to the public. It is therefore not known which flavor of wedding cake Princess Beatrice chose. However, according to Hello Magazine, the cake likely included some of the same colors and themes as Princess Beatrice’s bouquet. It featured flowers such as jasmine, cream and pale pink polka dots, ivory royal porcelain roses, o’hara pink garden roses, pink wax flowers, and baby pink astilbe.

It’s also likely that Princess Beatrice and her new husband chose a flavor suitable for summer, given that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry opted for a light lemon and elderflower cake for the May 2018 nuptials. .

Why did Beatrice wear the Queen’s dress to her wedding?

Many members of the royal family like to wink at the Queen during their ceremony. Princess Beatrice turned out to be no exception, choosing a Norman Hartnell gown that was previously worn by Queen Elizabeth for her wedding ceremony, according to Insider. The stunning dress is crafted from Peau De Soie taffeta and trimmed with ivory Duchesse satin. It marked a break with tradition, as previous royal brides like Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton both had tailored wedding dresses.

Princess Beatrice made sure the dress looked stunning on her big day by having it reshaped and adjusted to her measurements. Overall, wearing a dress that had belonged to the Queen was a sweet way to honor her grandmother.

The story of Princess Bea’s engagement ring and sweet proposal

While Princess Beatrice’s wedding dress wasn’t custom-made, her engagement ring definitely was. According to Brides Magazine, Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi worked with famous British jeweler Shaun Lane to create Princess Beatrice’s engagement ring. The ring is adorned with a stunning 3.5 carat round center diamond. The center stone is flanked by two smaller diamonds and is accompanied by tapered baguettes. This, according to Brides Magazine, gives the ring a fabulous Art Deco-inspired look.

As for Princess Beatrice’s sweet proposal story, Mozzi asked the question in September 2019, after about a year of dating. After getting engaged, the two allowed their big news to be shared on the Royal Family’s Instagram account. The couple’s statement said, “We are extremely happy to be able to share the news of our recent engagement. We are both delighted to be embarking on this adventure of a lifetime together and look forward to getting married.

These days, Princess Beatrice and Mozzi are enjoying their new adventure. They welcomed their first child together, a girl named Sienna Elizabeth, in September 2021.
