“People ask me all the time, ‘What is the greatest thing that has happened to you since you were The voice? Shelton said, describing his relationship. during an episode from the competition series. “It’s a no-brainer, isn’t it? I met my fiancée here. It’s hard to resist Gwen Stefani.”
Stefani and Shelton are now preparing for their wedding. A source before said PEOPLE that the couple is already “ready to get married” despite the ongoing pandemic. “It won’t be a long engagement. There’s a reason Blake has proposed now. They are both set to get married,” the source said. “They don’t want a big wedding. They want their family and close friends to attend and that’s it.”
And while the couple are still working out the details, Shelton recently said that they’ve at least decided how their first dance should go. While appearing virtually on Tonight’s show Last week, Shelton said he and his fiancee were growing nostalgic for their first dance as a man and woman.
“It’s ‘If you go’ from Pretty in pink soundtrack, “Shelton revealed.” I swear I got it right here, “he added, pulling the song up on his phone.
“We talked about it, we both love the song. We’re both 80s fans, why not, why not?”
As for the couple’s wedding song, there is still no final word on what lies ahead. In an interview with SiriusXM The Morning Mash Up, Adam Levine, friend and alumnus Voice coach, said he “would love” and “be honored” to play at Shelton and Stefani’s wedding. Although Stefani shared her excitement with the idea and said she would like Levine to sing, she noted that she was unsure in which direction the two would go on the big day.
“I have a feeling that we are not going to have an alliance,” Stefani said on Late at night with Seth Meyers in April. “I feel like we’re just going to go with, like, a playlist. We’re keeping it very simple,” – and that goes for the guest list, too.
“It’s gonna be like, my mom and dad and it’s literally gonna be just a family. We can’t wait to see this. It’s gonna be fun. We’re gonna make it really fun,” the singer added.
