Portugal and Manchester United superstar Cristiano Ronaldo partied the young fans after running onto the pitch at Aviva Stadium just after the full-time whistle.
Not only did the schoolgirl receive a hug from her hero, she walked away with the shirt on her back.
Ireland impressed as they faced Portugal in front of the first full-capacity crowd since the start of the Covid pandemic.
The draw means the Boys in Green now have five games unbeaten.
The Shelbourne Football Club said the girl who ran onto the pitch was one of their own players, Addison Whelan, who plays under 13 for the Dublin club.
In a Tweet, the club posted a photo, saying: “Shelbourne U13 player Addison Whelan gets Ronaldo’s jersey.”
Ronaldo failed to repeat the magic that saw him scoring two late goals and robbing Ireland of a famous victory in their last meeting – but the 50,000 fans don’t care.
Ireland, whose own hopes of qualifying for the finals had actually been over two months, have earned a point which means they can finish third with a victory in Luxembourg this weekend.
And while that’s little consolation, the unfortunate loss to Portugal in Faro in September is now their only loss in nine games.
