The Berkeley County Library System offers more than books – there are a myriad of resources and events at the system’s seven libraries and full-service mobile library, as well as online event opportunities.
Every Wednesday from 2-4 p.m., the Goose Creek Library, located off the old Moncks Corner Road, will host “Knotty & Nice.” The weekly event brings together those who love crafting. The group comes together to work on projects together while building a friendship at the same time. Library staff noted that anyone interested should bring their own sewing supplies.
On Thursdays, Goose Creek Library hosts Color Me Calm. The coloring event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Library staff say coloring has many benefits for children, teens and adults by improving motor function, hand-eye coordination and providing socialization. The weekly event gives community members the chance to color together. Materials for this event will be provided by the library.
Every third Thursday, the Hanahan Library Book Club will take place from 4-6 p.m. The event will feature a different book each month, and library staff encourage new members to join. Every third Tuesday, a new title will be awarded for the following month. Check with library staff to see which book will be discussed that month.
Some of the online events available to the community include a Facebook story hour, which takes place on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m. Library staff will read and present a children’s picture book story. The library also hosts Gale Legal Forms webinars every Monday from 11 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and Thursdays from 1 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. The event features professionally written national and state-specific attorney forms to help you navigate legal matters. This event is a resource for those who need help understanding and completing legal documents.
