Children’s programs

Outdoor family story time
Wednesdays, October 6, 13, 20, 27 at 10:00 a.m.
Join us outside for a family story hour, led by some of your favorite children’s librarians! Head to the grassy area in front of the LSC-Tomball Community Library for books, songs, finger games, and a on-the-go craft kit. Please prepare for the weather with blankets or chairs to sit on, sunscreen and bug spray, sunglasses or hat and plenty of water! This story hour is for all ages, but will be of particular interest to children 5 and under. This program will be canceled in the event of bad weather.

Virtual Alphabet Express
Thursdays, October 7, 14, 21, 28 at 10 a.m.
All aboard the ALPHABET EXPRESS! Join us on the LSC-Tomball Community Library Facebook page as we walk the alphabet through this early literacy program! Each session focuses on 1 letter of the alphabet and includes songs, finger games, activities, and printable resources. This virtual program is for children aged 3 to 5.

Tomball Anime Club

This month’s topic will be How to Draw Anime – what makes manga / anime art different from typical styles of animation and comics?

Career roadmaps
Monday October 4 at 3:30 p.m.
Curious about what to do after high school? Wondering if traditional college might not be for you? Join us for information on alternative career paths. Various careers are explored and people from the community are interviewed to learn more about how they got to the career they are in and explore the (sometimes winding) path that leads them to their current career.

Creative writing group for teens

Program in person. Go through the community engagement area and draw or paint a still life. Some supplies are provided, but feel free to bring your own sketchbook and materials!
