If you belong to a book group, we’d love to hear from you for an upcoming story about book clubs in Rhode Island, written by Robin Kall, well known for her “Reading With Robin” author interviews on Instagram. Live and in-person book events around the state.
Tell Robin how your club was started, how long you’ve been meeting, and how you select the books you’ll read. We also want to know how the pandemic has affected your group: have you gained or lost members? Do you meet via Zoom rather than in the living room? Has it changed the types of books you are interested in? Above all, we want to know how book discussions have deepened or broadened your reading experience, perhaps exposing you to authors and topics that you would not otherwise have discovered on your own.
As an incentive, up to 10 copies of best-selling author Don Winslow’s forthcoming novel “City on Fire,” the first part of a trilogy about warring gangsters in Providence, will go to a select book club randomly. “Reading With Robin” will host a Q&A with Winslow on Sept. 20 at a Rhode Island location to be announced, with proceeds going to Providence Books Through Bars Inc., a nonprofit that distributes books to prison inmates across the country. We will share more details closer to the date as events may be affected by COVID restrictions.
Email Robin at [email protected] with your book club details and include a phone number where she can reach you. Submissions must be received by midnight August 15th.
