The coffee table book returns to thank pets and raise funds

TAMPA, Fla. — During the pandemic, people and their pets have become closer than ever. Many owners thank their furry friends for helping them through the toughest times. In fact, there is a pet photography studio in Tampa that offers these owners a unique way to say thank you and raise money for a good cause.

On Tuesday, Olive and her owner Dustin Miller had their photo shoot. They are one of 70 fur families that will appear in a new book.

“She’s super spunky and energetic so there’s never a dull moment with her and I think I’ve laughed multiple times a day just watching her be herself,” Miller said.

Miller doesn’t even want to think about going through the pandemic without his two-year-old French bulldog and his best friend.

“It was a lot of work from home and I wasn’t going anywhere, so I think I would have been a lot more alone if I hadn’t had Olive in my life,” Miller said.

Adam and Mary Goldberg, the husband and wife team at AGoldPhoto Pet Photography, have heard countless stories like this, so last year they created the coffee table book, Tails of Gratitude.

“Taking this time to celebrate their pet and being able to see it printed and being able to share it with friends and family,” Mary said.

The book consists not only of professional photos, but also of a thank you note from the owner to his pet.

“It felt really fitting because our pets do so much for us, they’re our therapists, our heating pads, our co-workers, our running buddies,” Adam said.

The best part, all the money raised from the book will be donated to the Tampa Bay Humane Societya place where Adam started his career as a wildlife photographer.

“We wanted to create a significant way to raise a lot of money for the shelter because they had to cancel so many fundraising opportunities, especially due to the pandemic,” Adam said.

Last year they raised over $8,000, but this year the goal is $10,000.

“It would directly help us do what we need to do to save lives, every animal that comes to us needs medical attention, needs food, needs shelter,” said Elizabeth McCoy, events manager. specials for the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. .

AGoldPhoto will accept applications to be in the book by June. For more information, visit agoldphoto.com/book.

Dustin has already started working on his thank you note.

“I think I’m going to tell Olive how much I love her and how grateful I am that she came into my life,” Miller said.
