TikToker J (@jameslunet) recently recorded their mother launching a homophobic rant that frogs are supposedly gay before trying to ban J from wearing clothes with frogs on them.
“Frogs are cheerful. Did you know? ”The mother said to someone offscreen.
“Could you clarify this?” I answer.
After J asks if they are allowed to wear frog t-shirts, the mother replies, “All of your frog t-shirts have a ‘gay saying’ on them.”
“They don’t. They’re just frogs, J. retorted, “All my t-shirts just have frogs on them and they don’t have anything else.”
J continued, “All of my kissing and frog clothes are now being monitored.” His parents laugh in response.
It’s not immediately clear where J’s mother got this theory about frog sexuality, but it certainly wasn’t the first time J caught their mother marrying anti-gay feelings.
In a video posted earlier this month, their mother reportedly told J, who is a lesbian, that they are only gay to “fit in with a group of people.” In a second video, J’s mother asks her daughter if she can “at least be bisexual” so that she “has hope.” The mother refuses to develop her commentary on the screen.
In the comments, many users sympathized with J and his situation at home.
“I’m sorry man, this is abusive,” one user said. “Even if it’s in a micro-aggressive way, it’s still very abusive.”
“Not that they’re mad at the FROGS and CARE,” said a second person.
“Throw out the whole mom,” wrote a third commentator.
